The Red Devils Poised to Sign Germany Forward Lea Schüller from Bayern Munich
Manchester United are finalising sealing the deal for prolific Germany forward Lea Schüller on a permanent transfer from the Frauen-Bundesliga champions.
A Major Signing for the WSL Side
Schüller, who has half a year remaining on her contract, has been a prolific goalscorer for her club and the national team. She has scored more than 100 goals for the German giants and scored 54 times in 82 caps for her country. This signing is viewed as a major signing for the WSL team.
Her exit from Munich was expected after she was seen holding back emotions while applauding the club's fans following a victory over Bayer Leverkusen recently.
Reports in late December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was losing one of its leading forwards. According to multiple sources, the formalities for the move have now been completed.
Reliable Goalscoring to Strengthen United's Forward Line
The 28-year-old’s arrival is expected to provide a major uplift to the team's attacking options. Schüller has been remarkably consistent in front of goal in the Bundesliga.
- For seven straight seasons, including the last term, she achieved at least a double-digit tally of league goals.
- She won the top scorer award in 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals.

Securing Schüller’s signature coincides with a period when the club seem to be gathering momentum.
Their recent on-pitch successes include qualifying for the Champions League knockout phase playoffs in a seeded position and a win in the League Cup quarter-finals.

- The signing of Swedish right-back Hanna Lundkvist on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
- The contract extension for Japan midfielder Hinata Miyazawa, who has become popular figure since joining in 2023.
Regarding Miyazawa’s new deal, a senior figure commented: “She has become a critical component to the way we play. Her understanding of the game and skill allows her and the team to control and dictate play from the middle of the park.”
Lundkvist, who has joined from a club in the American league, said: “You can sense how much they [United] have grown in the last few years, playing in one of the strongest leagues in the world and now featuring in the Champions League.”
