Hulu to Bring a Far Cry TV Series from the Creators of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The latest action-packed instalment that gamers explored was Far Cry 6, which starred Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and came out back in October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it has a reputation for delighting in action and mayhem with similar enthusiasm, all while weaving gripping, socially charged tales. It’s no surprise that the network’s recent announcement for a Far Cry seasonal program brought on board two visionaries whose projects have exemplified all of those qualities.

About the Series

Based on Ubisoft's hit video game property, the self-contained anthology series will be available on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The series will also follow the video games' style by featuring a different location and cast of characters in every instalment.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as showrunners on the series under their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had magnificent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is fresh, gripping, and extremely entertaining. We also want to appreciate our associates at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this cherished property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also appear in the show, but currently, we do not know what part that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently renewed for more episodes, with FX and Disney signing a new long-term contract with the showrunner.

“Getting to work together with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally supportive, trusting us with one of the most iconic video-game universes ever created. And throughout this process, my FX partners constantly supports me with their ongoing trust and assistance.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an standalone series. Every instalment is a interpretation of a idea, the same way every series of Fargo is a adaptation on a story,” explained Hawley. “To produce a large-scale action show that can evolve from one instalment to the next, while always delving into the nature of humanity through this complex and turbulent viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m excited to partner with Rob and introduce our common irreverent, ambitious style to the audience.”

A time frame for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
