Nearly 25,000 residences in southeastern Queensland were left without power on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms impacted the region, bringing strong winds topping over 100 km/h.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Broad Destruction
Residents observed large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7cm in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that different parts across the state had been affected by significant hail.

Emergency crews were focused on reestablishing power throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews working to handle the widespread outages.
Southern State's Climate Difficulties

State Emergency Services responded to nearly 600 calls for help across the area, mostly for building damage but also for downed trees and inundation.
